What “Dataset Visibility” Means

mentorAI is trained on specific resource materials (datasets).
You can decide whether learners may see and open those materials when they ask a question.

What Learners See When Visibility Is Enabled

• The learner asks a question in chat.
• mentorAI replies.
• A side panel labeled Retrieved Documents appears, listing the exact resources the mentor used.
• Learners can click any listed document to read it and deepen their understanding.

How to Turn Visibility On or Off

• Open Settings.

• Select the Datasets tab.

• Find the dataset you want to adjust.

• Check the eye icon:

  • Eye without a slash = visible to learners.
  • Eye with a slash = hidden from learners.

• Click the icon to toggle visibility on or off.

  • Toggling off hides the resource from learners.
  • Toggling on shows the resource again and retrains the mentor if needed.

Note: A dataset can stay in the mentor’s training even when it is hidden; the toggle only affects whether learners can open the source.

Quick Reference

• Visible resources: learners see the documents in the side panel.
• Hidden resources: mentor still uses them to answer questions, but learners cannot open them.
